These CASA machines can improve the accuracy of the microscopic measures, although major problem with them are: difficulty in tracking sperm trajectories, separate software is required to analyze sperm morphology and in addition high purchase costs, CASA machines are rarely used in routine laboratories. To assist in these microscopic measurements, several manufactures have developed and introduced into the market Computer Aided Sperm Analysis (CASA). Several advanced sperm selection methods were currently used prior to ART, these are inadequate and fail to ensure spermatozoa with optimum quality. Further more, morphological determination is then made at different time on fixed, killed and stained sample. Manual measurement is unreliable as its highly subjective, leading to different estimates of motility between different laboratories.
